The love of watercolor which began as a hobby after retiring, lead Barbara to seek formal study. Encouraged by her teachers she joined her local art guild and entered her first juried show winning second prize in watercolor division.
Besides ongoing classes at Mohave Community College Barbara has attended workshops held by notable professional
artists, Marilyn Schutzky, Charlotte Huntley, Tom Lynch, Carol Orr and Betty Carr.
Her painting Havasu Garden commissioned for the Havasu Community Health Trust was put into print for fund raising purposes. The artist donated the original to the trust and it hangs in the Lake Havasu City Oncology Center and a signed and numbered limited Edition hangs in the Arizona Governors office in Phoenix.
Barbara’s work hangs in the new Lake Havasu City library as well as many notable restaurants and doctor’s offices in town. The Adobe Mountain Wild Life Center an arm of the Arizona Game and Fish Department displays a painting of Barbara’s. Her clientele now extends across the United States and several foreign countries.
